Outside walls, brought back.
Driveways, patios and paths washed at a pressure the surface can take. Tired render filled, prepared and repainted. Photographed before and after, like all our work.
Clean, not stripped.
A pressure washer used badly etches block paving, lifts pointing and scars sandstone. We match the pressure and the nozzle to the surface, and soft wash anything that can't take a lance.
- Driveways and paths: block paving, tarmac, concrete and resin. We brush fresh sand into paving joints once it's dry.
- Patios: sandstone, limestone, porcelain and slabs, cleaned without gouging the surface.
- Walls, steps and garden brickwork: algae and green growth taken off.
- Gutters and fascias cleared and washed down in the same visit if you want.
If a surface is too fragile to wash we'll tell you before we start, and say what to do instead.
Preparation is most of the job.
A fresh coat on unprepared render looks fine for a season and then fails. We sort the surface first:
- Wash the render and treat any algae or fungal growth
- Rake out and fill cracks, cut back blown render and patch it to match
- Stabilising primer where the surface is chalky
- Two full coats of exterior masonry paint in the colour you choose
- Windows, doors, paths and planting masked and sheeted
If the render itself has failed and not just the paint, we'll say so rather than paint over it.
Questions we get asked.
Will power washing damage my block paving?
Not at the right pressure with the right lance. The usual damage comes from blasting the sand out of the joints and never replacing it. We wash, let it dry, then re-sand.
How long does render painting take?
It depends on the size of the wall and how much preparation the render needs. Cleaning and filling usually take longer than the painting. Your written quote gives the time for your house.
Can you do the roof and the render in one visit?
Often, yes. We clean the roof first so any run-off comes down before the walls are painted. The order is set out in the quote.
Do you need dry weather?
For painting, yes: dry render and a dry forecast. Washing can go ahead in most weather. If we lose a day to rain we'll tell you as soon as we know, not on the morning.
